What is deregulation?

For years, energy has been monopolized by large distributers, leaving customers no choice but to use the energy supplier made available to them by state and local utilities. Deregulation gives subscribers in select markets the right to choose the supplier of the actual energy that their local utility delivers to their homes or businesses.

What are the advantages of being a XOOM Energy customer?

• Choice: The customer can participate in choosing the supplier of their energy.
• Flexibility: Depending on what the customer wants or needs, XOOM Energy has a plan to meet that need. XOOM Energy offers fixed rate plans, variable rate plans and also offers contract term or month-to-month.
• Control: XOOM Energy allows the customer to be in control of their energy supply by having a choice in the service plan and supplier.

How do I become a XOOM Energy customer through FHTM?

To initiate XOOM Energy services, simply follow the required enrollment process provided through the XOOM Energy link at the bottom of this page. There is no need to contact your local utility before placing or order or during the application process. When you become a XOOM Energy customer, you will retain your current services and account through your local utility. XOOM Energy will simply begin supplying the actual energy that the utility then delivers to your home. Your utility will still be responsible for your wiring, lines and any and all maintenance or servicing.
